My poor kitty!
So Brian took Zach to the vet for me to make sure his tyhroid meds were the right levels today. Turns out my cat went from weighing 14.5 pounds to 11 pounds. YIKES! I hope the vet gets it figured out soon.

What to do?
My birthday is coming up and I feel like celebrating. I have no idea what I want to do (obviously binge drinking is out of the question). Anyone have any suggestions on what to do on a Saturday night that involves a few friends? Leave your ideas in my comments....

My response to Ben Salmon's "Wishful Thinkin'"
Friday was a busy day for me at work -- a focus group and a bunch of meetings. I never had a chance to read the paper (which is where I read the paper). Today, I sat down to read the online edition and got a little chuckle out of Ben Salmon's article "Wishful thinkin' Let's make up a Les Schwab concert lineup out of thin air." Music is very subjective and because of that, I will NOT make fun of Ben's picks (which included Def Leppard, BB King, various country artists and Jack Johnson) but will give you my picks my dream line-up for our little amphitheatre. So here goes:
1. U2 - Set up the heart stage and let's see Bono charm the crowd.
2. Radiohead - So far the closest they are coming is Seattle and San Fran but Thom and the boys could definitely show those of us East of the Cascades how to rock.
3. Wilco - Jeff Tweedy has his own Breedlove Guitar line -- I'm sure he'd love to come play here.
4. Dandy Wharhols - They're from Portland -- Bend's not that far
5. REM - It wouldn't be the end of the world if REM rocked Bend
6. The Cure - Because we need a little goth
7. Madonna - She plays a Breedlove - show Bend some love.
8. Arcade Fire - Bend can take their energy and politically charged lyrics.
Yea, I know it's only eight but three of my favorites have played here already: Flaming Lips, Beck and Ween and it wouldn't be fair to list them.

Oh to be the marketing director at Breedlove Guitars
That would be a cool job. You get to help market this and probably meet JT himself.

Driving tip for Bendites
It seems winter is finally upon us in Central Oregon, therefore, people don't know how to drive on ice or snow. That's ok if you don't know how to drive so I'm here to tell ya about the neutral method. If you're going fast and catch a patch of ice and can't stop, DON'T jerk the wheel -- pop the car into neutral and press the break. You'll stop.
My work is done here.

Domestic Diva!
I haven't been in the mood to cook/bake for months but today, that all changed in the past week. Today, I made warm winter lemon cake and chicken piccata The piccata sauce was a perfect combination of butter and lemon -- not too tart, just right. I also made couscous -- 2 cups chicken broth, 1 cup couscous, pine nuts, golden raisins and teaspoon of lemon. My husband had the perfect idea of mixing all the leftovers (chicken and sauce) with the leftover couscous. That will be an awesome treat tomorrow.
I'm off to prep breakfast for the morning.
