New Years Resolutions

For the first time in many years, I'm not going to make a New Years Resolution to lose weight (for obvious reasons) but my big one will be to save money, make home cooked meals, follow "the secret" and appreciate my husband more.

This holiday season, I basically lived guilt free of everything I put in my mouth food wise. This month my OBGYN asked me to try to eat more since I only gained one pound since Nov 1. Ya see, pregnancy has wiped out my appetite and I'm constantly hungry (if that makes sense). I eat breakfast and an hour later I'm hungry. It's really annoying after a while. I haven't had any cravings, in fact most of the time, I have no idea what to eat.

Anyway, happy new year. I do have a baby blog and if you'd like the link, leave a comment with your email and I'll send it your way.

It's not to early to think about my birthday

With my birthday a little over a month away, I think I found what I want:

What is it? It's a Sharper Image Microderm kit

Since I've been pregnant, my skin has been breaking out like crazy. It's the first time in my life I've had to deal with acne.

And if you go through ebates.com, you get 5% back!

First stab at digital scrapbooking

Today I took my first step towards committing to digital scrapbooking. I have an unfair advantage because well, I know how to use Photoshop and InDesign pretty well (wish I could say the same for Illustrator). Most digital scrapbookers use Photoshop but since InDesign is way easier to manipulate, I created it there and imported the pdf to Photoshop to make a jpg. I'm pretty satisfied with my "tree hunt" page. I think my next step will be making a wedding album book using Shutterfly. I'm so adventurous. It only took me two years!

This is all in preparation to the arrival of Lil Berger, of course. Because who wants to look at pages with Charlie or our vacations!

2007 in Music

I've been seeing all of these "Best Albums in 2007" posts on my RSS feed so I thought I'd add my .02 cents to the mix. 2007 wasn't as exciting as 2006 but that doesn't mean that it sucked. I saw two awesome concerts in Portland -- Wilco and the Arcade Fire and both produced superb albums. I saw Wilco compared to the Grateful Dead by Rolling Stone today(they were once compared to Sonic Youth -- what a 180). So here goes:

5. Under the Blacklight - Rilo Kiley
I used to see Rilo Kiley alot when they used to record in Omaha. I saw them go from a garage band to a class national act. They're music has definitely evolved into a more grown up sound.

4. Alright, Still - Lily Allen
Serious sound, funny lyrics. My favorite song is "Alfie" and the rest of the album is a favorite while working out.

3. Neon Bible - Arcade Fire
With their unique sound and stage presence, you have no idea what to watch when attending a Arcade Fire concert. With their politically charged lyrics, it's hard not to rock out.

2. In Rainbows - Radiohead
I'm surprised that this is showing up on lists considering it's official release isn't until January. In Rainbow isn't as good as OK Computer but will there ever be an album better than OK Computer? Probably not.

1. Sky Blue Sky - Wilco
Who would have guessed this was my favorite album of the year? This mellow album beautifully chronicles Jeff Tweedy's battle with overcoming addiction. His songs are truly mastered stories and shows Wilco's still producing albums ahead of their time.

Dear Bendbroadband

Thank you for adding new channels but having to memorize the new channel list doesn't make this pregnant woman happy. At least we have the E! Channel now.

Is it secure?

We came home and decorated our tree for the holiday. After hacking and trimming away at it, our tree was perfect. I also purged some of my holiday decor. I wish someone would have told me that spending all that money on Winne the Pooh ornaments would be a waste someday. I don't even want to hang them up. I'm so over Pooh.
