Happy 2nd anniversary to the hubster and I. We went to Cork last night and feasted on dumplings, roast beef and vino today.
But I got the best news!!!! Radiohead's album will be out Oct 10 via the internet. This means I will have a new obsession.
Better get back to being lazy.

Help me out
So we've been checking out gyms because we need to join. Have you seen our waistlines? Don't answer that. Only I can say I've put on weight.
So, I checked out a few places and settled on The Body Shop. Mostly because I work out at night (not after work), it's close to my house and they have a steam room in the locker room (as compared to Juniper's co-ed steam room). I was surprised today when the one of the trainers told me that Golds Gym closed it's doors today.
If you're a member of Golds and want to check out The Body Shop, I have passes. (and the incentive is for each person that joins, I get my fees for .99 a month per person).

Have you been to Indigos?
Since I’m now working on the eastside of town, I’ve notice the choices for lunch spots are slim pickings until recently. The other mildly annoying thing is when you try to drive downtown for lunch at noon, it takes forever. It’s not worth it to waste an hour. What is happening to the traffic in this town?
Where was I? Oh yea, lunch. I have started the habit of bringing my lunch to work. I make a few things on Sunday and just bring them. I got a little burnt out on salads and now we’re onto soup season. We’ll see how long it takes to get sick of that. A few months back, places started opening up … Longboard Louies (LOVE the buffalo bowl), Double Happiness, Quiznos and now, my new favorite place Indigos.
Indigos is across the parking lot from Longboard Louies and they serve salads, pita sandwiches and smoothies. I’ve only tried the salads, mainly because Joey and I made the mistake of looking up the nutritional information on the pitas. The cool thing is you can be creative and make your own pita or salad! If you haven’t checked it out, view their menu online. You can even fax your order (like we did) and they had it ready when we walked in the door.
Next week, I’ll have a review of some pastries from “Hey Cupcake!” I’ve been fortunate to have tried some chocolate croissants and there is a chocolate cake sitting on my counter as we speak!

Enough about Sally ..
Everyone is linking to Sally but I'm not. She is funny. but instead, I'll talk about the wonderful world of TV news and how today was a page in Bend broadcast news not to be missed -- the launch of KOHD. As a news geek, I got up at 6 a.m. to watch their broadcast. A lot has changed since I worked in TV (almost 9 years). Even my husband wiped the sleepers out of his eyes to catch a glimpse. Their liftoff into Bend's broadcast news spectrum looked better than the launch of KFXO and who wouldn't think having a news/weather dog (KOHDY) is a cute thing.
So, what were your thoughts?

Weekend Wrap up
The weekend flew by as it always does. I made a mental note to make next weekend count since it’s our anniversary and starting next Monday I’m working 13 days straight until I head east for the frog’s wedding.
So here are the highlights…
• hung out with baby piggy penny and parents. Brian is a natural with the "snugly."
• did the whole domestic thing … shopped for groceries, cleaned, did the laundry.
• Went to Shojis for sushi. I’m not lying when I say it’s Bend best sushi secret. Our chef was “Sam” and he was hilarious and the sushi was amazing and cheap – about $30 cheaper than the last sushi place we went to in this town. Not as good and cheap as Sada’s in Newport.
• Kousefly packed Silvermoon and we were out pretty late. Their new drummer really takes the band up an notch.
• Sunday was pretty boring. Yard work. Laying around watching bad tv and a quick hike at Shevlin Park.
Our anniversary is on Sunday and we’re thinking about going out to dinner on Saturday night. My husband would like to go to Cork but I’d like to try some place new. Any suggestions? Leave them in the comments.

Kousefly
From HackBend.com:
This Saturday, September 22nd, KouseFly is playing at Silver Moon Brewing, and they're rolling out their new drummer, Cory Heun. The show starts at 7:30pm, and the best part is that it's free—there's no cover charge. Combine that with Silver Moon's $3 pints of beer and you've got a good night.
Don't have plans? Check out my hubby's band.

Save Rosenblatt Stadium
Yea, I don't live in Omaha but via the 'net I found out that the City of Omaha is trying to build a new stadium for the CWS and there is a group of folks against it. Well, I'm one of those folks against it having grown up near Rosenblatt the first 21 years of my life. Check out the cool video that Kevin Costner did to save Rosenblatt Stadium.
I actually had a conversation with Joey regarding if Kevin Costner actually has enough pull but she thinks he does so we'll see if he can save the stadium.

I have no idea
I am grumpy. I can't pinpoint what started the grumpiness but I'm not satisfied with a lot of stuff right now. A feeling of undervalued comes to mind in a lot of aspects. Maybe a little resentment and why the hell did it take all day for the dealer to fix the jeep I don't even like to drive.
What ever you do -- don't watch "Tell me that you love me" on HBO InDemand when you're depressed. It makes it worse.
I think I need to read "The Secret" or go hold Baby Toxic. Or maybe I need to get off the couch and quit sulking and go make dinner already because cooking makes me happy. Plus I'm hungry.
This is gonna be an AWESOME week ... is it Friday yet? I need to sleep in and relax.

I'm totally turning into my mother
I am now vacuuming our house every Saturday while rocking out to Wilco, Dandy Warhols and Goldfrapp on my ipod (thanks to my new ipod speakers) and cooking a brisket in the crockpot (thank you Entrees Made Easy). My mother used to vacuum the house while listening to her 8 tracks of the Eagles, Neil Diamond and Willy Nelson while cooking chili in the crockpot. Please stop me if I start wearing socks that don't match my outfits or start bleaching my hair (another thing my mom would do).
I think I'm going to attempt to pimp my house halloween style tomorrow.
(by the way, I totally want a new ipod now, I think after three years I'm ready for a new fancy dancy one -- right?)

Mystery solved!
My best buddy had her baby. She opted not to find out what she was having until it was born because she felt life won't present her with too many more surprises. We're pretty close so I've been waiting just as patiently for "baby pigpen" to arrive as she was and it did last night in the form of a baby girl. I get the honors of building her baby a blog site and showing her how to update it. I'm so excited! YAY!

Before & After
Here are the petunias I planted in June:

This was in July:
And this was yesterday before I pulled them all to plant bulbs:

What's my secret? Having sprinklers (though I should have said "I'm a gardening genius.")
Check out how I tortured my dog:
This could totally ruin my "lifestyle change"
So, Joey told me that Starbucks has replaced the Iced Rasp Latte with Pumpkin Spiced Latte. I think I'm in trouble.

Soon I will have a new obsession
This is just music to my ears. I hope it comes out soon!
and to the person who posted this in my comments:
Too bad you bought an overpriced bend house. The "pac northwest" lifestyle just separates you from your money.
Wow, must be jealous because your IP address was from BendBroadband. Get over it.

The housing boom moves east
This morning NPR had this interesting story about how parts of the Midwest are not troubled by the shaky real estate market. In fact, they said if you wanted to have the small town feel (140K ppl), Sioux Falls, SD was your place. And if you wanted to live in a place that has good paying jobs, affordable real estate and a big city feel -- guess where they said to move would be .. Omaha, NE at 500K ppl.
So, if we moved to Omaha -- this house is basically the same price of what we paid for our Bend, OR house. I pick this neighborhood because if I did move back, this is where I'd like to be. But I'd settle for this.
Don't worry! I'm not moving anytime soon. Brian wouldn't let us.
Also, if you're driving down Purcell from Reed Market -- there is a speed trap there. It didn't get me today. I was lucky.

Halloween already?
It's September which means chili, football, new tv shows, planting bulbs and Halloween. I think I'm going to spend the weekend putting up my halloween stuff.
Over the weekend, Jon and I discussed not only "Sunken Treasure" but our Halloween costumes for our friend's annual party. We had a killer idea but it was all crossed out when the invite came as a masquerade party. So our killer idea will have to wait unless we have our own party or go to the bars dressed up but honestly only we would get the hilarity of our costumes.

Sunken Treasure anyone?
Here is a quick review of the weekend:
* hit overtime on Friday. Met my husband for margaritas at 3 p.m. He decides he needs to do some work so I take a nap. I wake up it's 7 p.m. My husband willing asks if we can watch Jeff Tweedy's "Sunken Treasure." I've seen the movie or parts of the movie FOUR times over three days people. The Portland hissyfit doesn't get old.
* I wake up to hearing "Sunken Treasure" on in the living room. Husband works. I clean. I walk the dog 3 miles. My husband willing askes to watch Wilco's "I'm trying to break your heart."
* Husband works. I walk the dog. I buy speakers for my ancient ipod. Friends come over and bbq. My husband tells my friends *I* am obsessed with Wilco. EXCUSE ME -- who's wanted to watch the Wilco movies, ppl. Not me. He's asked. So we spent the whole night asking each other "Sunken Treasure anyone?" I think it's definately going to replace "Scooby's at the front door."
* Yesterday -- played Chuzzle all day. Walked the dog. Husband worked. Watched Entrourage and Flight of the Conchords because we're getting rid of HBO. Played more Chuzzle. Didn't watch ANY Wilco movies. Didn't listen to any Wilco. I'm actually getting a little burned out. I'm into Rilo Kiley now. Sorry Jeff.
Anyway, back to the office today. I was listening to "Can't Stand It" by you know who (Wilco) this morning and I SWORE the words said "I swear I'll never do acid again." I went and looked it up and the words are "your prayers will never be answered again."
I think I need some coffee.
